DIY - An Ordinary Fabric to a Stylish Fashion Item

Here is an easy tutorial on how you can use a piece of cloth as a stylish fashion accessory in just a few minutes. The idea is from 'Behind The Seams'

Things that are required :

1. A rectangle piece of cloth - suggested 60 inches long and the width depends on your preference.
2. A scissors
3. A measuring tape.

Step 1 : Fold the fabric in half from left to right
Step 2:  With the measuring tape, measure six inches down and sic inches over from the folded side. Then cut an eight inch vertical slit.
Step 3: Open up the fabric and there should be two openings for your arms to go through.

And Viola - It's Done :)

  3. i have a style question..will be grateful if u help me out with it..i want a look that's chic yet trendy n stylish.. i ws thinking of a simple combination of dark blue skinny jeans , a black tank top and a white sleeveless cape( like the 1 you have explained about in this post) over the tank top along with a broad belt over it, paired up with some funky golden accessories..will give me the verdict on this get-up?? i vl be grateful too, if you suggest something better too :)

  4. Hello Papali - Usually layering looks great with minimal colors. Your idea is great, however it would look better if you restrict the colors to 2 or max 3 - Say, a black jeans with a black tank top and a white cape / cardigan could do the trick ! And, the braod belt is an eye catcher in itself - so its best you avoid the golden accessories. The idea is to have one big [ eye catching ] accessory and leave the rest as simple as possible :)
