The Slim Look

Opt for outfits that skim your body rather than the clingy ones. There is a misconception among many women that wearing tight clothes can make one appear slim. But it’s the other way around; tight or clingy outfits can make you look larger than you actually are.


Additionally, loose fitting clothes can also make you look large. The key is to opt for ones that fit your body – not too tight or too loose.

Long pendants, necklaces and chains can make your neck seem longer. Tight or short ones can visually shorten your neck.

To elongate your physique, choose medium to high heels.

Nothing can beat black when it comes to slimming. However, you can play with colors in your accessories. For instance, a plain black outfit with a colorful stole or scarf can do the trick.

Avoid horizontal stripes; instead opt for vertical or diagonal ones. It gives the eye an up and down movement, making your silhouette appear taller and slimmer.

Avoid tight fitting pants that hug your thighs and hips. It can look drab and dowdy. The best cut for wide hips is boot cut pants, which have a slight flare at the bottom. They balance out your hips and create thin and long vertical lines.

The key is to downplay or camouflage the parts you prefer to hide and highlight your assets. For instance, you have large legs, choose dark colors pants or skirts and play with your tops by opting for a colorful one.
